The Senior Financial Analyst is a diverse role within the ESIS Division of Chubb and will mainly focus in with the monthly and quarterly accounting close process in addition to expense management, planning, and forecasting activities. The Senior Financial Analyst will also be expected to provide accurate, clear and concise reporting to ESIS Management on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and year over year basis. Critical qualities to succeed include the ability to take ownership, identify and recommend remediation for issues, manage projects, develop relationships, as well as to continuously build on knowledge of ESIS products and services. Responsible for expense management, revenue reporting, annual plan, and forecasting. Utilize a variety of systems/reports to prepare the necessary detail to review the P&L monthly. Responsible for partnering with ESIS businesses and support groups to understand their expense needs and reporting, including assisting in the development of reports and providing support to related users. Compile metrics and analysis on various portions of the P&L including Written Production, Earned Revenues, and Expenses. This includes both weekly and monthly reporting metrics. Analyze monthly, quarterly, and YTD profit & loss statements for completeness and accuracy and prepare commentary providing clear and accurate descriptions of the significant events impacting the monthly /quarterly results. Gather/prepare documentation to support unusual activity, trends or occurrences and communicate/inform impacted areas/personnel of the findings and continue to follow up on issues until resolved. Responsible for partnering with ESIS businesses and support groups to understand their expense needs and reporting, including assisting in the development of reports and providing support to related users. Preparing impactful presentation materials for senior management meetings. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, improvements, and effectiveness of reporting Assist in the development of business reports and provide support to related users. Liaise with IT, Claim Operations, Global Treasury, and Corporate Finance to resolve issues and to gather pertinent information. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years progressive accounting or financial analysis experience at large public company. CPA or MBA preferred. Experience in Microsoft applications (advanced Excel skills preferred), General Ledger systems (PeopleSoft) and database tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos). Enthusiastic self–starter with a proven track record of achieving results. Genuine aptitude for working in an energetic and entrepreneurial small team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting/Finance/Business or other related fields of study. Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail. Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make solid recommendations. Ability to understand relationships and interactions between financial data and business results. Proficiency in end–user applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization, while building positive relationships Demonstrated integrity and dedication.
