Job Summary

The Senior Digital helps guide marketing business owners in the development and execution of a robust technology roadmap that positions Houston Methodist to achieve its marketing goals. This individual works with stakeholders in marketing and throughout Houston Methodist to better leverage existing digital technology as well as identify and capitalize on new digital opportunities. The Senior Digital Business Analyst collaborates in the development of clear and actionable business goals and then leads efforts to translate those goals into practical technical requirements. This person serves as the primary liaison between the marketing department and its IT partners, as well as any third party, web development teams. The Senior Digital Business Analyst develops an implementation plan and oversees the execution and launch of enhancements, fixes and new technology solutions. To this end, this person manages project structure, identifies and tracks through completion all deliverables– including creative and non–creative assets such as architecture, copy, design, content entry, and user acceptance testing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 1. Engage customers and elicit requirements using various methods, including RAD design/development methods in conjunction with RAD developers.
  • 2. Development and maintenance of project documentation.
  • 3. Lead virtual project teams.
  • 4. Creation of requirements specifications using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely.
  • 5. Decompose high–level business and user requirements into functional requirements and quality, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those responsible for basing their work on said requirements.
  • 6. Define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements.
  • 7. Represent requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate.
  • 8. Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.
  • 9. Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents, and reviews of work product derived from requirements specifications to ensure that they were interpreted correctly.
  • 10. Responsible for ensuring effective 2 way communication within the project teams, and with customers.
  • 11. Responsible for identifying, raising, and facilitating resolution of issues that arise during the course of a project.
  • 12. May provide team leadership for other BA team members.
  • 13. Engage with customers to assess and address needs within the scope of approved development methodologies.
  • 14. Mentor other team members with 1 on 1 training when possible.
  • 15. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Administration, or related discipline required.
  • EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 – 8 years experience in the Health Care Industry.
  • Knowledge of clinical and financial operations in a hospital environment a plus.
  • 4 – 8 years experience working with computer systems, including Microsoft Professional tools.
  • 2 plus years working with information technology teams on development projects.
  • Some experience with tools such as Microsoft Analysis Services, SQL, VBA, C#, ASP.Net. or similar technologies required.
  • Experience integrating new and existing clinical database environments.

  • Standard laboratory environment; some assignments may be in hospital units with typical hospital environmental hazards and concerns.
