This role is for a senior accountant on the solar accountingteam at Tesla. As with all of our accounting roles, this position isresponsible for contributing to the financial reporting, internal control,system development and global consolidation of one of the world's most excitingcompanies.

A successful candidate will have had between 3–5 years ofexperience serving clients in a broad range of industries and who have beenconsistently rated at the top of their peer group in their firm's or company'sperformance review process. We are looking for those people who can deliverresults and who find ways to raise the bar every day. The successful candidateis technically strong, relentlessly drives out inefficiencies in everythingthey do, is innovative and can communicate complex accounting topics, simply.


  • Responsible for various aspects of the month end closeprocess ensuring that all deadlines and cutoffs are adhered to. Theresponsibilities will include performing tasks related to:

  • Debt (Debt compliance, investor reporting, amortizationschedules, interest accruals, swaps)

  • Investor contributions, accruals and payments ofdistributions to investors on a monthly basis

  • Lease Pass through structures (oversight of models andinterest expense)

  • Quarterly financial statements for investors

  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Work cross–functionally with other groups to foreseepotential accounting issues and recommend practical solutions associated withcontemplated business transactions.

  • Monitor business activities and understand complexagreements with investors to ensure timely identification of accounting andfinancial reporting matters and prepare high quality accounting reconciliationsand journal entries on a monthly basis.

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financialtransactions in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

  • Assist with projects and initiatives to continuously driveefficiency improvements and accelerate the close process.

  • Preparation of materials as required for internal andexternal auditors.

  • Assist with special projects as needed.

  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, passed CPA exam(or CPA candidate) preferred or equivalent experience

  • Evidence of exceptional ability

  • Big 4 public accounting experience a plus

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant business experience.

  • Must be organized and detail oriented, as well as a teamplayer with strong communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi–task, prioritize and work in an extremelyfast–paced environment.

  • Must be proficient Excel skills (pivot tables, filtering,macros, Power Query, Power BI) and SQL skills a plus

  • Be able to cultivate strong cross functional relationships
