The position of Senior Accountant offers a unique opportunity to gain a well–rounded general accounting and SEC reporting experience in a publically traded company. It requires technical competence regarding U.S. GAAP and SEC filings (10Q/Ks, 8ks, etc.) as well as general ledger accounting. The successful candidate will assist with the coordination and preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings and will provide timely and accurate reporting for two business divisions of Phibro Animal Health Corporation. The position will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Teaneck, NJ. Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following: Key Responsibilities: External Reporting: Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual SEC filings, press release and investor presentations Perform financial statement disclosure reconciliations while maintaining proper internal controls to meet SOX compliance requirements Review and compile quarterly financial information provided by the global Business Unit Controllers Track key accounting and reporting issues for consideration in SEC filings Assist with the completion of quarterly SEC disclosure checklists Compile variance data for balance sheet and income statement analysis Assist with technical research for complex accounting and disclosure issues Assist with ad–hoc assignments, special projects and new US GAAP accounting standard implementation Business Unit Reporting for Two Divisions: Prepare and process journal entries Balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis Prepare the monthly income statement and balance sheet Analyze the balance sheet and income statement and provide explanations on variances against budget and prior year Assist with development of the annual budget Prepare supporting documentation for the external auditors and tax consultants Maintain and review documented procedures and controls to ensure compliance with SOX requirements Assist in the design and implementation of close process improvements Key Competencies Required Qualifications : Undergraduate degree in accounting Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Big 4 accounting firm and/or public company experience Minimum of 5 years of related work experience Possess a strong working knowledge of US GAAP Familiarity with new accounting pronouncements Experience working with a global, international organization Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Experience with JD Edwards accounting system is a plus ???
