Accounts Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Preparation and posting of all sales invoices on Xero in a timely manner and follow up on outstanding collections.
* Posting all supplier invoices in a timely manner, as well as, the preparation and posting of cheque payment vouchers on Xero
* Maintenance of Fixed asset register, including posting monthly depreciation
* Monthly bank reconciliation of all bank accounts on Xero
* Posting all accrued interest on loan balances and monthly reconciliation of loan balances.
* Preparation and posting of all payroll entries on Xero and ensuring statutory deductions such as PAYE, H/S, and NIS are remitted within statutory deadlines.
* Monthly reconciliation of Accounts receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory and Fixed Asset sub-ledgers to General ledger accounts.
* Complete all statutory reporting required by Trinidad and Tobago Free Zone.
* Other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* Minimum ACCA level II professional qualification, currently pursuring ACCA level III.
* At least 2 years experience in an accounting environment.
* Working knowledge and experience of Xero Accounting Software
KNOWLEDGE AND OTHER SKILLS
* Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP);
* Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Word and Excel.
* Good customer service skills
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task effectively and work within tight deadlines to meet targets;
* Must possess a valid Driver's License and own a roadworthy vehicle;
* Must be willing to commute between the organization's retail store and head office;
