The Midlands is one of the largest regional PwC offices, with the Midlands Innovation Incentives Group (IIG) spread across Birmingham, East Midlands and Milton Keynes, working with innovative clients across the region.

Clients are diverse, spanning many industry sectors from software to pharmaceutical, and ranging in size from start-ups to large multinationals. Candidates should expect to be dealing with clients directly, whether business owners, technical engineers or internal finance/tax functions.

The majority of day to day work work will be focused on R&D tax credits, hence why experience of this is an essential requirement. Work will also encompass patent box claims and potentially broader IP tax advice.

The Midlands IIG has grown significantly in the last few years, and we expect that rate of growth to continue. In joining our team you the successful candidate can expect to be involved in a range of challenging and interesting work, with a clear career path to progress to manager and beyond.

Our R&D team is part of the wider Corporation tax service line and is made up of a multi-discipline team of tax specialists, engineers, scientists and IT specialists who are all dedicated to working with clients to produce high quality tax credit claims, including computations and documentation for HM Revenue and Customs. We work closely with clients to support them through any negotiations with HM Revenue and Customs, as well as provide advice on related issues, including accounting or structuring issues, including areas such as advising on the location of R&D operations or other global projects to ensure R&D incentives are optimised in other territories outside the UK.
PwC's national Innovation Incentives Group is looking to recruit an individual at Senior Associate level with experience of UK R&D tax credits and ideally knowledge of Patent Box claims. The IIG team is passionate about helping our clients to obtain the incentives available to support their investment in innovation and new technologies and this is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Midlands and work with them to build on the strong growth of this region. Ideally the successful candidate would be based in our Birmingham office, but as they are expected to work across the Midlands we would also consider those who wanted to be based in our East Midlands or Milton Keynes offices.
We are keen to hear from people who are passionate about innovation and growing our Innovation Incentives business.
