Our client is a highly successful investment firm focused on sustainable infrastructure investments and have been operating for more than 10 years. With continued growth and interest in the fund and their investment sphere, they are now looking to appoint a senior executive to their team in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

You will be managing a small corporate team of four staff and be responsible for all day to day management decisions to ensure that systems, processes and internal controls are in place to support the timely delivery of corporate and fund information to the wider business and its investors. You will also encourage collaboration across business units and provide relevant information to assist in operating the Funds Management business and the management of the corporate entities and provide necessary information to assist with successful business planning and business development.

Other responsibilities will include: corporate accounting; Board management and reporting; AFSL management and reporting; statutory reporting; supporting Executive team with Investor Relations and relevant reporting; supporting Executive team with Portfolio Management of Funds; transaction structuring support; custody and corporate project management.

Key attributes for the successful candidates will include:
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in managerial positions with operational or finance functions within the funds management industry.
  • Strong accounting knowledge; the ability to understand and interpret financial statements and accounts. Strong financial planning/budgeting experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with senior management, employees, clients and unitholders.
  • A genuine desire to manage, lead and motivate people and small teams.
  • Effective negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
  • Tertiary qualified in a finance, accounting or commerce discipline
  • CA qualifications highly regarded.
  • Importantly, a “roll up your sleeves” attitude which is essential in a small, boutique environment
