About the Position The Commercial Accountant will be responsible for a multi–divisional sales and service business unit, with focus on inventory cost management and commercial accounting. This includes preparing financial information we well as ensuring adequate controls are in place. This position will also focus on budgeting, forecasting and partnering with management to streamline and better the business. Job Responsibilities Operational Day to day running of finance matters working closely with a centralized accounting team who manage transactional accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting Working closely with the regional credit controller to manage credit risks associated with customers. Partner with operations to promote inventory control including provision review for obsolescence, coordinating bi–annual stock counts and overseeing weekly inventory reporting. Performance Analysis, Budgeting, Forecasting and Month End Reporting Complete monthly financial close and reporting, forecasting and budgeting with strict adherence to Group deadlines and in accordance with policy and procedures. Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. Analyze financial data and create financial models to support decision making. Control Environment Encourage a sound cost control environment, including to company expenses and travel policy Ensure robust procedures are in place enhancing monitoring and reporting of overarching systems Support sales contract review process driving improved commercial decisions during contract acceptance. Required Skills 5 years of relevant experience Accounting degree Ideal Skills CPA/CMA Employment in a multinational organization Lean manufacturing knowledge Software implementation knowledge from an accounting perspective Advanced Excel skills
