Commercial Accountant
A full-service data-driven global marketing agency, rooted firmly in digital innovation are looking for a Commercial Accountant to join their busy team in London.
You will be a key business partner to the business leaders ensuring they have financial support and analysis to be able to make informed business decisions. This will also include liaising with people at all levels of the business from the client managing partners to account executives to obtain all information about every job that is running through.

You will be a key business partner to the business leaders ensuring they have financial support and analysis to be able to make informed business decisions. This will also include liaising with people at all levels of the business from the client managing partners to account executives to obtain all information about every job that is running through.
The role
- Checking and running the departmental forecasts with the business leaders to ensure information is accurate and can be reported to the Corporate planning manager
- Producing reports for corporate planning manager & the financial controller upon request which would include detailed month end analysis to enable completion for month end closing
- Ensure revenue is posted correctly in the system and validated, in line with month end closing
- Support quarterly audit for revenue recognition and balance sheet position
- Analysing system data for accruals and WIP to ensure all are within expected parameters and produce the Gross profit margin analysis report by project at every month before month end closing and report to Financial controller and corporate planning manager
- Ensure jobs are reconciled and closed in a timely fashion (usually within three months of completion)
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of the retainers for the business to use with Clients to demonstrate under/over burn
- Helping implement new processes around revenue recognition and forecasting to enable improved accuracy of the data
- Train and support to Project members to use the Project system
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong IT skills (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel), in particular proficient in Excel
- Excellent communicator both verbal and written
- Strong relationship builder
- Work well under pressure with exceptional attention to detail
- Great team player, help out team mates whenever needed
- Highly organised with a logical approach to challenges
- Comfortable with change and managing others in the business through the process
- Part-qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA
- Extensive experience working in an agency, ideally in the commercial finance team
- Experience with working with Senior level directors and the supporting members of the finance team
- Knowledge of SAP
