Well established Manufacturing Company based in Durban is looking for a Procurement Manager

Experience / Qualifications:

- Relevant Degree or Master's Degree
- Minimum 10 years' experience
- Experience within manufacturing

Key performance areas:

Groups procurement strategy (development and maintenance)

- To ensure that the groups procurement strategy based on best practice with due reference to the groups specific requirements is developed and maintained.
- Ensure that there is buy in of all relevant operational staff to agreed strategy.
- Ensure MRP is being run weekly by the relevant stores staff to ensure that there are no stock outs.
- Eradicate stock variances
- Supply Partnerships (BBBEE)
- Ensure that partnerships are developed with the best interests of the group in mind. Resulting in stable, long term supply. To focus on BEE Procurement Drive to increase BBBEE spend in order to meet the company's BBBEE targets.
- Assess BEE level of certification with existing suppliers
- Total cost of ownership to be assessed with all non partnerships given group requirements
- Identify BEE suppliers that are to be actively pursued for development purposes
- Assess BEE levels of certification with existing suppliers

Company's procurement spend (Monitoring and Analyses)

- Ensure that all spend pertaining to procurement is monitored and analysed
- Spend to be analysed correctly and timeously to ensure no doubt as to the amount spent on any material group
- All spend to be correctly allocated so as to allow correct analysis

Maintenance Stores Management

- Manage the company's maintenance stores, maintaining sustainable lower TCO, reduced inventories utilizing JIT concepts
- Ensure that the maintenance stores are able to offer superior surface to the plants with the lowest investment
- All major critical purchases are stock items
- Consignment stock to be maintained where applicable
- Stockholding not to increase in Rand terms year on year

SAP Expert User

- Management of changes implemented in SAP relating to the MM Module
- Procurement related SAP training of MM Module
- Handling and resolving of queries or errors in SAP
- Logging helpdesk calls with Portugal

Budget Control

- Prepare and manage the budget in line with company's financial policies and procedure
- Actual vs. Budget tracking report

SHEQ

- Manage and Support SHEQ initiatives to achieve company SHEQ objectives
- Build commitment to sustain improvements in safety.
- Report all near misses
- Champion safety initiatives

People Management and Development

- In line with Company requirements ensure that people under ones leadership:
- Are properly recruited, on-boarded and inducted
- Have meaningful job descriptions
- Performance is managed and performance reviews are conducted and documented at least once a year, proof of reviews are submitted to HR
- Have performance improvement plans, documented training plans and are trained and developed to meet the required competencies of the job on an ongoing basis
- Are engaged in a co-ordinated internal communications
- Have activity deadlines
- Work is quality controlled
- Work is completed on time and meets high quality standards
- Coach staff on daily responsibilities
- Supervise and guide a team to maximize revenue
- Meet with team from time to time
- Develop safe and positive work environment for staff
- Encourage and recognise performance
- Perform disciplinary interviews and enquiries when required
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Delegate work, manage workload and output of subordinates
- Ensure adequate staff levels to cover for absences and peaks in workload

Compliance

- Compliance with relevant legal prescriptions and constraints
- Compliance with company policy and procedures
- Compliance with Company, statutory and legal requirements by studying and understanding requirements
- Compliance with SHEQ
- Enforcing adherence to requirements
- Advising management on any needed actions

Team Work

- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Any other lawful and reasonable instruction
