Your team’s mission?
This exciting Engineering opportunity sits within the Application Protection Squad – a key part of our broader Cyber Defence Tech Area within our Security Domain, where the mission is to partner with the business to ensure Security@Speed.

• Protecting, detecting, responding and reporting on cyber-attacks and threats to defend our customers, information and systems
• Educating, advising and providing thought leadership to our community to build trust and exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements

As an Application Engineer in the Application Protection squad you will Design, build, test and support key applications and underlying bank infrastructure enabling continuous delivery practices to increase delivery speed. As well as providing ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management

The Application Engineer also utilises industry-leading tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing tech division capabilities.

You will help to deliver this by bringing the following skillset/experiences:

• Degree in information security, computer science, cyber security or information technology
• 7 or more years of technical experience, including at least 4 years in security services
• 2 or more years of hands-on experience on WAF technologies such as SecureSphere, Incapsula, Akamai, F5.
• Experience on JIRA, Confluence, Change Management tools, SharePoint etc
• Solid understanding of internet protocols and technologies such as HTTP, APIs, HTML/JS, DNS, TLS, TCP/IP etc.
• Experience working in a Cloud environment as a Security Engineer with experience in Cloud WAF solutions.
• Change management covering planning, approvals, testing and execution.
• Working with Stakeholders on restoration of services and Incident Management

Desired:

• Available for change and incident management outside business hours.
• Background in development and networks
• CISSP or comparable security certification
• Knowledge of Service Now and change management process
