Assistant Accountant

Position: Assistant Accountant Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 Per annum Benefits: Free Parking, auto-enrolment pension scheme, 20 days holiday plus statutory. Hours: Permanent 8:45am - 17:00pm: Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break. Location: Ikeston Job Description: Our client is a family run business and a premier distributor or catering disposables, chemicals & janitorial supplies in the UK. Operating from sites in Ikeston & Thetford the customer focused business supplies local and national businesses on a next day basis. Due to business growth this established business is looking for a new Assistant Accountant to join the finance team based in the Ikeston depot. Main Duties Include: - Preparation of monthly management accounts including: Profit & loss account. Balance sheet. Variance reporting. KPI's. Balance Sheet reconciliations. - Daily & monthly reporting. - Daily reconciliation of cash receipts and allocation on the system. - Posting bank receipts and payments from a number of sources. - Analysis and posting of credit card payments. - Weekly bank reconciliations. - VAT returns. - Assisting with the purchase ledger. - Attending and monitoring stocktakes. - Dealing with customer and supplier queries. - Various other duties and ad hoc reporting. Key Skills & Attributes: - Experienced assistant accountant within a similar position producing accurate and timely financial information. - Strong Excel skills.
