We are looking to recruit a part qualified, assistant accountant for an established business in Earby. You will have strong numerical skills, good double entry bookkeeping as well as Microsoft Office proficiency and confidence in using accounting systems.

Essential skills:

* 3 years' experience within an accounts department

* Siginificant reconciliation work

* Good attention to detail

* Part Qualified in a Professional Accounting Qualification

* Proficient use of Microsoft Excel

Desirable skills:

* Continuing to study towards fully qualified status

* Experience in interrogating accounting systems, extracting and analysing data

* Knowledge of 'SUN' accounting system

Hours: Monday - Friday 9-5 (earlier start and finish/or late is also possible)

23K plus bonus available of up to 5% (Company profit related)

Pension

Key duties:

* Maintenance of cashbooks and production of required month end journals for the business.

* Prepare designated nominal account reconciliations. Ensure timely resolution of any reconciling items and that all unreconciled differences are investigated promptly.Provide analysis of the differences and update the Monthly Reconciliation Summary Schedule.

* To complete a monthly review of primary reconciliations in line with policy, and to assist in enhancing the analytical content and preparation of forecasts for those reconciliations.

* To fully document and analytically review month end processes, continually looking for ways to improve and provide efficiency to the processes, and ensuring critical spreadsheet documentation is updated.

* Manage all aspects of the Essbase load process for P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring accuracy and providing guidance to FP&A on any fluctuations to expectation.

* Ensure the delivery of all reporting disclosures (roll-forwards, Balance Sheet Variance Analysis, Q Packs, mapping changes, financial receivables, AR Aging Analysis, Form 10k, VAT, Balance Sheet Exposure) to Corporate Finance, accurately and on time.

* To review the balance sheet forecast, and to calculate appropriate forecast values to improve cashflow forecasting.

* To assist FP&A with the modelling of accounts receivable and homeowner payments to ensure accuracy of cashflow forecasting.

* To Review the cashflow variance analysis, and provide guidance on scenario movements and possible opportunities and risks.

* To maintain timesheet entry, ensuring new projects are available, and all staff complete timesheets in a timely manner. To consolidate the data extracted from this system, and to prepare monthly journals to ensure appropriate costs are capitalised in line with policy.

* Ensure accurate reporting of all capital requirements, maintaining appropriate reconciliations to facilitate the timely review of capital. Liaise with senior management to facilitate the capital forecast submission, and to assist with the production/review of US capital requests, ensuring all internal capital requests are raised in accordance with policy.

* Further to the capital requirements, liaise with the project management team to determine the timing of capitalisation of projects, enabling the accurate forecasting of depreciation. Review movements in the forecast and provide a detailed reconciliation.

* To maintain the fixed asset register across all reporting ledgers, and to periodically review the register and dispose of assets no longer used.

* Ensure the delivery of all tax disclosures (roll-forwards, EBT forecasts) to Corporate Tax, and to assist with tax calculations (deferred tax movements and payments on account) accurately and on time.

* Assisting with Treasury projects. To be the primary contact within the group for banking and credit cards, creation or closure of new accounts, ordering of cheque books and stationary, to monitor and minimise bank charges, monitor foreign currency requirements, facilitate treasury training and provide reporting to Corporate of cashflow requirements and receipts & disbursements.

* To manage the core sales ledger function, and provide supervision, training and mentoring to the Assistant Accountants.

* To assist the Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager with the year-end audit process and in the preparation of all UK statutory accounts, including direct liaison with Deloitte's audit team, and preparation of UK tax packs for corporate tax.

* To compile and submit the VAT return, and to assist the regional VAT controller with any queries that arise.

* Preparation of the ONS and ABTA industry returns, and annual licence renewals.

* To manage the core sales ledger function, and provide supervision, training and mentoring to the Assistant Accountants.

* To take the lead on specific projects as required (Daybook migration, implementation of reconciliation software, statutory account production software), providing training and ongoing development.

* To assist management with any ad-hoc queries/projects
