Commercial Real Estate Developer in Northwest Broward is seeking a Property Management Accountant with institutional experience who will be responsible for AP, AR and preparing accurate monthly financial reports. This position will also assist the Property Manager in preparing schedules, reconciliations, accruals and other administrative tasks.

The individual must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as in a team setting and have strong time management skills.

To qualify for this role you must have basic commercial property management accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Follow client's established procedures for your assigned group of properties and review company calendar for timely processing of monthly financial reports and accounting tasks

• Code and post payables according to budget and mail out payments in a timely manner

• Assist with the monthly and annual close process including preparation of journal entries and accruals

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and provide applicable schedules as backup

• Track capital expenditures and depreciation if required

• Prepare bank reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies

• Post cash receipts for assigned properties ensuring the appropriate amount of sales tax is allocated

• Monitor Accounts Receivable balances and work with Property Manager on keeping them clean and accurate

• Review all prepayments, apply/post in corresponding period, notify Property Manager of any discrepancies

• Post monthly tenant billing and adjustments (credits, write offs, etc) as requested by Property Manager

• Calculate and file monthly sales tax returns, management fees and owner distributions

• Assist Property Manager in preparing the annual budget, re–forecasts and reconciliation of operating Common Area Maintenance expenses

• Assists with annual audit coordination by providing auditors with requested information, answering questions that arise and booking adjusting journal entries

• Assists with client communication by responding to financial questions in a timely fashion


• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting

• 3 years in commercial real estate property accounting

• Must be organized, detailed, flexible and efficient

• Yardi Voyager property management software preferred

• Advanced MS Excel experience a must

• Dependable, flexible, and able to work in a fast paced environment
