Background:Our client wishes to increase their resources within their company in order to be able to enhance and deepen their credit analysis capacity. The business has doubled in the last year and there is the continued focus on growth going forward.Critical deliverable: Producing high quality credit research/analysis of unlisted and unrated businesses together with the preparation of loan submission packs to the Credit/Investment Committee. Thereafter to implement together the loan agreements and related security agreements.Requirements:
- Accounting/finance or maths/quants orientated degree - B.Com; B.Bus.Sci; or CA background and maybe with a CFA or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 5 years industry experience in credit and risk industry, preferably in corporate finance/finance/legal environment/private equity or a development finance institution.
- Must be able to work well within a team and be able to operate independently
- Must be able to deal with relevant client queries
- Must be able to assess companies and their capacity to take on and repay debt
- Must have a demonstrable passion for lending/markets and empowering companies and have a passion for numbers and analysis
- Ensuring that credit policies, criteria, procedures and documentation relating to credit are adhered to and generated
- Assessing the credit worthiness of empowerment enterprises specifically with a responsible lending mindset
- Prepare all documentation and analysis to present to and facilitate decisions of the Credit/Investment Committee
- Determine and ensure that company operations meet conditions for the provisions, and special loan conditions for clients
- Prepare and conclude loan agreements
- Monitor loan agreements compliance through time
- Monitoring credit exposure
- Liaising with other staff within the company
- Understand the lending or financing environment
- To review policies, credit criteria and procedures with respect to assessing and validating credit applications and supporting documents
- To perform financial statement and ratio analysis and interpretation on a number of requests for funding at the same time
- To perform risk analysis and interpretation
- To manage credit risks and credit exceptions
- To understand legal requirements in granting & declining credit applications
- To use decision support tools in the evaluation of credit e.g. internal and external credit reports
- To operate in a research environment where examining and sorting through financial data is critical to one's success
- To make use of learnt methodologies to achieve desired outcomes i.e. must be methodical and have high attention to detail
- To be self-motivated and to handle criticism
