Robert Half are recruiting for a global retail company based in central London. The client is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager to join their growing team.

Role

The Accounts Payable Manager role for the global retail company based in central London consists of the following responsibilities:

Overview

The Shared Processes Manager will be responsible for the transaction processing functions (AP & AR) to ensure that these functions operate efficiently and constantly improving to best in class.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable: Manage the AP team (4) and the end-to end AP process to ensure that Vendors are paid according to payment terms and that the business is fully supported.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage the AR team (4) and the end-to end process to ensure that all credit card and cash receipts are correctly allocated and discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage queries and escalations related to the above processes. Assist with operational tasks as required.
  • Team Management, including recruitment of staff, managing performance and conducting employee assessments, mentoring, motivating and developing staff
  • Process management: Documenting and reviewing the processes on an ongoing basis, identifying improvement areas, and implementing improvements.
  • Reporting and KPI's: Reviewing and preparing reports and KPI's on a regular basis to measure the health of the processes, identify any problem areas and resolving them.
  • Ensure that all SOX, Internal audit controls and local compliance requirements for the AP and AR processes are followed, documented and reported as required.

Profile

To be a successful applicant for the Accounts Payable Manager role for the global retail company based in central London you must meet the following criteria:

Qualifications

  • Extensive people management experience essential
  • Transactional management experience essential
  • Experience in working in a Shared Service environment required
  • Experience in KPI reporting is essential
  • Proven track record of process improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel is required.
  • Must be organized, analytical, pro-active and good with people
  • Experience with JD Edwards is a bonus.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
