Job Summary: The Property Accountant is responsible for daily accounting and property management activities. Property Accountant Responsible for recording all transactions in the accounting system to provide accurate financial reporting. Supervises payables, billing, and cash applications. Ensures timely payment of all invoices. Reconciles all bank accounts and performs all month–end reconciliations and journal entries. Prepares all monthly reports including the balance sheet, budget comparison, supporting schedules, rent role, tenancy schedules. Ensures a proper financial cut–off and the accuracy of the accounting records. Involved in creating the budget along with property managers. Responds to all special requests in a timely manner to ensure the owner has everything they need to make financial decisions. Provides cash flow analysis to enable the owner to manage and project their cash expenditures. Ensures all lease data is accurately reflecting in the accounting system, as well as occupancy data. Can provide ad–hoc reports as needed. Skills, Education & Experience Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a professional accounting/bookkeeping role for a real estate company. Accounting degree or significant work experience in commercial real estate accounting. Proficiency in MS Office is preferred. Yardi or comparable property accounting software experience required. Ability to meet deadlines, well organized, self–motivated. Strong multi–task skills and ability to adapt quickly to a fast–pace environment. Detail, systems and numeracy focused skills. Problem solving skills, pro–active and initiative. Ability to work independently and as a team player.
