Interim Head of Financial Accounting & Governance

Fixed term contract until end of June 2020 (with potential for permanent)

Salary: £55,000 per annum pro rata

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexibility to do 4 days a week)

Based in the Counting House, London Bridge

What the job involves

We have an excellent opportunity for a confident and motivated senior finance professional to lead our Financial Accounting & Governance team on an interim basis. You will lead the annual statutory year end requirements and oversee financial transaction processing and reconciliations within the charity, ensuring that robust controls are in operation and workloads are managed effectively.

You will oversee banking relationships, review VAT and Gift Aid returns and oversee/authorise monthly payroll. You will work collaboratively across directorates providing timely and proactive advice to the charity.

What we want from you

An ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified accountant, you will have direct experience of year end statutory accounts preparation, as well as leading the year end external audit and managing this relationship. You will also be experienced in reviewing and enhancing robust controls in financial accounting processes. You will be an excellent communicator, confident in managing internal and external relationships and influencing positive change across the organisation.

You will be an experienced team manager focused on developing your team and encouraging them to achieve their best.
