Our client in Leeds city centre urgently require the expertise of a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) to support with a number of projects that the finance team are undertaking. The purpose of this role is to assist the team in the completion of these projects as well as with day to day activities.
The job:
Working with the Financial Controller to engage with tax advisers on a number of key projects (Some U.S Tax), providing them with the information they require and implementing recommendations as appropriate. This will include management of our external advisers, and working across the business, ensuring that key stakeholders are kept informed of progress against key milestones
Train the finance team on the required processes, procedures and reporting to ensure all recommendations are incorporated into the day-to-day activities of the business
Preparation for, and assistance with the year end audit. This will include working with the team in the preparation of material prior to the audit as well as liaison with the auditors to facilitate the completion of the fieldwork and preparation of the year end accounts and tax returns
Maintenance of short-term cash flow forecasts and associated reporting
Participating in the month end close process, assisting the team in the preparation and review of the close files and performance of reconciliations
Documentation of policies and procedures, which includes consideration of areas for improvement and implementation of recommendations
Essential and Desirable Criteria
· Qualified accountant
· Advanced excel skills
· Experience of working with US businesses and knowledge of US tax - desirable
· Experience of managing external advisers
· Proven ability to plan and manage activities against clearly understood project objectives
· Worked in technology environments
· Worked in SME environments
