To prepare or assist in the UK corporate tax and VAT compliance cycle for a number of companies, including group reporting, statutory accounts, taxation returns & computations and instalment payments.

Description
The key responsibilities are:
- Preparation or assistance in a selection of UK tax returns, instalment payments, joint amended returns, tax group relief and other aspects of UK tax compliance for the group
- Preparation or assistance of corporation tax and deferred tax calculations and related tax notes for inclusion in the statutory accounts of UK companies
- Review of the draft statutory accounts for accuracy and consistency
- Assistance with the tax accounting and reporting performed by the financial controllers of our UK companies including group reporting on quarterly/half yearly/yearly basis
- Preparation or assistance in the preparation of monthly/quarterly UK VAT returns
- Assist in maintaining a good working relationship with the UK tax authorities through written and verbal correspondence and at the annual CRM meeting
- Involvement in audit, year-end and statutory accounts tax processes and procedures
- Involvement in tax forecasting processes and procedures and reviewing tax forecasts prepared by companies/branches
- Provide tax input into key accounting projects such as financial reporting under IFRS, compliance with SOX and accounting system changes
- Assistance with HMRC enquiries
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be part-qualified (ACA, ACCA OR ATT) with experience of working in a tax and/or accounts-based role or a person with strong accounting and tax experience and knowledge acquired in the profession or industry/commerce
- Have excellent attention for detail and be determined
- Be energetic, questioning and proactive
- Be a strong user of Microsoft office
- Have sound communication and presentation skills, both spoken and written, to be able to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately with finance and non-finance people
- Have good interpersonal and people management skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work streams
- Have strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Have a strong desire to learn and ambition to pursue a tax career
