We're looking for a Valuation Policy Specialist to join us in London
What you'll do
Working in the Accounting & Valuation Policy team, you'll be evaluating new valuation and accounting requirements in the UK and internationally, and briefing the finance community on these. We'll look to you to provide technical expertise and advice to internal customers regarding valuations, developing responses to valuation practice and policy changes, and presenting new valuations developments to your team and the wider team.
We'll also look to you to provide oversight for the development of more detailed policies and practices within NatWest Markets to ensure a consistency with bank policy and to maintain an alignment between the ring fence and non-ring fence bank.

The skills you'll need
We're looking for a technically minded person who can bring valuation experience, gained within an IPV or GPU function. You'll have a professional accounting qualification and substantial post-qualification experience in a valuation advisory or policy role, gained in an international financial services company or a big four accounting firm.

We're looking for a Valuation Policy Specialist to join us in London
- This hands on role will see you having great influence across the bank as you work with a range of senior stakeholders on operational issues
- You'll get involved in markets and non-markets valuations, and will provide valuation expertise to support the ring fence bank in evaluations
- With great variety, you'll benefit from high visibility as you make an impact on and change the direction of key policies for the bank
What you'll do

Additionally, you'll be:
- Identifying and reviewing the implementation of best practice for fair valuation and reserving issues
- Providing support and guidance to Finance, Treasury and Risk on fair valuation issues and queries
- Developing a good network across the ring fence and non-ring fence bank
- Challenging policies and keeping up to date with valuation policies and methodologies
- Supporting the implementation of new IFRS financial reporting requirements
The skills you'll need
We're looking for a technically minded person who can bring valuation experience, gained within an IPV or GPU function. You'll have a professional accounting qualification and substantial post-qualification experience in a valuation advisory or policy role, gained in an international financial services company or a big four accounting firm.
You'll also demonstrate:
- Expert knowledge of IFRS and of valuation practices
- Experience of working in an audit function
- A good understanding of best practice in developing and applying valuation policy and practice
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues
- The ability to build and enhance key relationships, credibly influencing and challenging as necessary
