Accountemps has partnered with an esteemed organization to find a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year–end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Kennesaw, Georgia area, the company offering this challenging long–term temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.

Your responsibilities in this role

– Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

– Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

– Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

– Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision

– Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

– Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

– Ad–hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

– Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

– Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

– Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
– Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

– Experience with ERP systems

– Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

– Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

– Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations

– Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

– Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

– Proven analytical skills – defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

– 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

– Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

– BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

– Be detailed, flexible, and organized
