The Senior Accountant will oversee the European reporting and ensuring compliance with UK, France, German and Spain local reporting requirements. The candidate is responsible for reviewing and interpreting financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations in order to present accurate and on-time monthly income statements and balance sheets for the consolidated European Group and all subsidiaries in Europe.

Description
Responsibilities:
Ensuring monthly reporting is completed in accordance with CoStar Group reporting timetable and that monthly results are consolidated accurately into the European Group reporting - currently three business days of month end
During month end reporting process reviewing balance sheet and income statement accounts and coordinate posting of month-end entries (eg accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, revenue recognition, consolidation entries, intercompany transactions, etc)
Reviewing month end balance sheet schedules for inclusion in US reporting and quarterly filings
Analyse and understand variances to budget and prior period and communicating details and recommendations to Management Accountant and Financial Controller
Ensure receivables, payables, payroll, etc general ledger transactions are processed accurately and promptly into accounting system
Travel to USA to meet with accounting team as well as key people in business to contribute to achieving company goals and keep up-to-date with changes in operating activities
Travel to European offices to meet with local country managers and administrators
Ensuring processes are adequately documented and adhered to in accordance with the documented process; recommending and/or implementing improvements to processes and technology/systems
Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Objectives:
Managing month end close process to ensure reporting is completed within Group reporting deadline and is accurate and to a high standard
Ensuring compliance with local country and Group accounting and tax requirements
Develop, implement and/or maintain accounting and related systems
Profile
Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
Studying towards ACCA/CIMA or QBE
Experience of Oracle or SAP implementation
Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or FRS 102 and/or IFRS
Knowledge of local reporting and tax requirements in European jurisdictions desirable
Highly organised and demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines and timetables
Effective time management and prioritisation skills
Experience working on complex issues where analysis of situations and/or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variables
Experience exercising judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Previous experience working with international multi-currency consolidations
Knowledge of Oracle Financials and/or Navision accounting systems desirable
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
