The successful candidate will be responsible to:
* Develop and implement strategies to promote the growth of the credit business
* Assist in developing sound and acceptable credit policies to maintain an acceptable credit risk management environment
* Implement and maintain a process to achieve consistency in credit decisions
* Create and maintain customer service environment by meeting credit approval targets
* Participate in the strategic and business planning process for the companyEstablish and communicate department goals and performance results to subordinates
* Evaluate and analyse performance weekly against targets
* Maintain a departmental structure that supports meeting goals and objectives
* Visit branches island-wide to promote collaboration and to ensure that standards are achieved
* Coach and develop staff to ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators and targets
* Supervise a large team of Supervisors and Credit Underwriters
Qualifications and Key Competencies include:
* Tertiary level education, preferably a post graduate degree in Business or Finance
* A minimum of three (3) years in a similar capacity in a large consumer credit environment
* Analytical and problem solving skills
* Negotiation and report writing skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Leadership skills.
* Experience in training and coaching at a senior level
* Computer literate and numerate
* Competence in using advanced Excel
* Competence in analyzing financial information
* Experience in debt collection at a senior level
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
