KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Preparing and maintaining accounting records to ensure adherence to established International Accounting Standards.
* Supervising the Areas of Accounts Payable, Payroll and Costing and Inventory, ensuring that all objectives are met and that all Journal Entries and reports are timely, accurate and complete.
* Reviewing of the the monthly management accounts while ensuring the maintenance of monthly balance sheets and profit & loss schedules for audit purposes, in addition to their agreement with the General Ledger
* Co-ordinating budget preparation, monitoring and control processes, in line with agreed policies and procedures.
* Supervision of inventory audits to ensure accuracy in valuation and count.
* Planning and monitoring the day to day operational deliveries of accounting personnel, to ensure that established work targets are achieved and productivity levels maintained.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:
* Sound knowledge and application of Sales and Cost Accounting,
* Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), (applicability to manufacturing and distribution entities would be an asset)
* Proficiency in MS Office Tools, with advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.
* Excellent interpersonal, coaching and listening skills
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Proactive, quick thinking and uses initiative
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
* A Graduate degree in Accounting and/or a Professional Accounting Designation (ACCA/CMA)
* Minimum five (5) years' experience in a similar capacity.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of Inventory controls. Must be able to coordinate and execute cycle counts plus review and update standards, overhead costing, break-even, margin and variance analysis.
* Highly familiar with manufacturing/production operations and supply chain functions
