Finance Director - Hatfield - 30 hours per week Our client is a not for profit organisation, based in Hatfield. They are looking for a Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership and professional advice, to support business development and to drive operational performance. You will be responsible for the day to day management and control of the finance function ensuring that all financial / management reporting is delivered to high professional standards. You will part of the Senior Management Team, enabling you to help steer the business and shape the future of the organisation. Responsibilities Provide guidance for the financial and business development of strategic policy and operating plans, to achieve the priorities and longer term objectives of the organisation.Provide the day-to-day financial services required for the businessProvide financial planning, guidance and advice to support the development of the annual Business PlanPrepare large scale project and programme budgets (also in respect of large scale funding bids and tenders).Produce and present monthly Management Accounts with appropriate commentary.Oversee regulatory complianceDesign and implement management reporting systems and internal controls as required.Provide a corporate financial service in relation to external service providers, including bankers, insurers, auditors, HMRC, the payroll provider and others.Develop, provide and monitor financial control systems to support the achievement of annual plans, targets and outputs; taking responsibility for the final clearance of funding claims, ensuring their financial completeness and accuracy.Lead the preparation of statutory accounts for the organisation and trading company ensuring audit requirements are met.Supervise the calculation of the quarterly VAT liabilityLead, manage and develop the Finance team including line management of the Finance & Project Accounting Officer.Train project staff in the financial management skills necessary to manage and control their projects. Experience You will be fully qualified - either ACCA, CIMA, AAT or ICAEW - and have experience of a wide range of financial duties within an accounting environment including; the provision of management accounts, strategic financial analysis, problem solving and business planning guidance. Ideally you will have worked within the not for profit sector, but this is not essential. You will be an experienced SAGE user, with strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.
