Payroll Team Leader

Robert Half are currently recruiting for a Payroll Team Leader within the Surveying industry for a client based in Leighton Buzzard.

The role is ideal for an experienced Payroller who is looking to take the next step in their career into a supervisory role. Your main responsibilities will include;

• Processing 14 Payrolls per month for 7000 people
• Managing a team 3-4 Payroll Clerks
• Supervise the accurate entry of data onto Resourcelink; including starters, leavers and change of details

• Check the accuracy of variable data when performing temporary element loads input for commissions, bonuses and overtime and ensuring that this is in line with the monthly timetable.

• Ensuring awareness of internal and external audit items that are raised when auditors have been in, to ensure that you are aware of any process changes or rules. This may require you to present information to your team, to ensure that they are up to date as well.

• Perform monthly reconciliations of PAYE and pension payments.

• Prepare a monthly timetable for your teams work, ensuring that this is fully communicated to the whole team to ensure that everyone know what is going on

• Process RTI returns to HMRC on a monthly basis and ensure payments are made accurately and on time.

• Hold regular one to one meetings with the members of your team, providing both positive and negative feedback on how they are performing (as necessary). These should always be followed up with written notes.

• Provide feedback about your team to the Group Payroll Manager on a regular basis and attend regular one to ones with the Group Payroll Manager for which you have fully prepared.

The ideal candidate will have experience with;

• 3-years payroll experience
• Demonstrate good organisation and attention to detail
• Hands-on attitude to work and assisting members of your team

Preferable

• Experience using Resourcelink
• Previous line management experience
