You will step into this site and it is clear from the moment you walk in the door that this business has quality and people at the heart of its culture. The culture lends itself to individuals who can positively challenge and influence change, so you will be given the opportunity to do this with the three year financial plans and beyond to ensure delivery. You will be regularly making recommendations and implementing improvements to procedures and systems and will really be able to drive change.
The Finance Controller provides strategic information to the Exec team and also to the wider business teams; you will be the sole contact for the site and will report to the UK Head of Finance based at another facility, so here you will have accountability for all aspects of accounting and financial management on site.
Shared services are based abroad, and you will not have any reports in this role, so it is essential you are also happy to do the day to day as well as the strategy, which yes isn't for everyone, but for those who enjoy this it helps keep you in the thick of the business and interacting with staff cross-functionally, really feeling part of the team. As it is hands-on and interactive you will draw upon your passion for figures to bring them to life for different audiences (some of which numbers are not their first language!)...Utilising this you will enable the business to have a clear understanding of where it currently is against budget and how it can deliver the overall business goals. You will formulate three-year budgets and business plans for the site with clear rational of how these objectives can be met. You will need to be pro-active and interrogate information systems to alert the business to any issues.
Other responsibilities include:
- Monthly and annual financial reports
- Preparing the investment plan including NPV and ROI
- Prepare tax declarations
- Complete month end closing
- Prepare audit information
You will need to be fully qualified either CIMA or ACCA and will have GAAP / IFRS auditing expertise.
