Job Purpose:
- To supervise all accounting functions of the company including its divisions and related functions of the company operations businesses while supervising the accounting team.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Approval of daily business related expenses and review of journal entries in financial module.
• Review and approve general ledger entries into the system. Authorize journal entries in respective business units for true and fair accounting.
• Review weekly cash flow for MD.
• Preparation of monthly (and as on need basis) debtors/receivables’ ageing and liaison with unit heads for recovery of overdue collections.
• Monthly review and authorization of payroll.
• Review and approve vacations pay, EOSBs, overtime, incentives and outstation allowances.
• Critical review of third party man power suppliers’ invoices.
• Preparation of annual budget and variances.
• Review of monthly cost ledgers, monthly management reports, reporting on variances and presentation to MD and business units. Preparation of variance analysis for MD.
• Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow for smooth handling and payment of expenses after approvals from MD.
• Solicited and unsolicited meetings with clients, bank representatives and other stakeholders for smooth business operations.
• Liaison with auditors for finalization of statutory auditors.
• Liaison with VAT consultants on payment of Zakat and Withholding tax returns.
• Preparation of new business proposals – cost analysis.
• Preparation and review of monthly invoices for an international partner based on budgeted fixed and variable expenses including reconciliation of actual vs budgeted amount on a quarterly basis.
• Meetings with clients for explanation of costs and factors involved.
• Preparation of new business proposals and advise on cost factors involved.
• Preparation of monthly reports on the provided formats and comparison with budget, then, advise on differences from budgeted invoice values.
• Liaison with the Country Manager and Regional Managers for the international partner to make a clarification and presentation on the costs and profits incurred.
• Review of IP fees calculations and invoices generated by them.
