What is your tribe mission?

Group Payments Tech Area develops and operates systems that process tens of millions of consumers, commercial and governmental, domestic and international, monetary and non-monetary transactions involving ANZ-administered credit facilities and deposit accounts, every day

What will Your Day look like?

As a UI Engineer at Group Payments, you will be responsible for creating great internal and external customer experiences. You will have significant hands on engineering / development experience to drive software delivery excellence and engineering standards for our UI frameworks/platforms.

You will enforce best practices on development teams and help guide the overarching platform architectural visions forward. You will also be responsible for building world-class capability in your chapter members and be a role model for our ways of working and be passionate about coaching, mentoring and developing others to be the best versions of themselves.

What will be in your toolkit?

  • Be highly competent and respected in your discipline
  • Lead and mentor a team of UI engineers with varied specializations
  • Build world class capability in our Engineering space
  • Define patterns and standards to ensure tools and frameworks are used optimally
  • Lead the identification and evaluation of new technologies and frameworks
  • Understand the strategic direction of the tech area
  • Collaborate with other chapters and tribes
  • Influence technology leaders with your ideas

To succeed and grow in this role, you will have:
  • Strong understanding of modern UI development practices and patterns
  • Strong ability to communicate and coordinate within the immediate development team as well as the wider community of teams
  • Hunger to learn new things and humble to say, ‘I don't know/understand'
  • Experience mentoring and leading other developers (eg. pair programming)

You might also have the following specialised skills:

    • Extensive experience in UI/UX design and development (HTML5 & CSS4)
    • Experience in client side UI technologies such as ReactJS, React Scripts, GraphQL, Babel and Webpack.
    • Expertise in the micro services architecture and implementation experience in NodeJS, Springboot or Golang.
    • Advanced understanding of DevOps concepts involving Git, Build Tools, Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
    • A desire to continuously adopt new techniques / technologies and drive innovation for ANZ.
    • A willingness to promote and debate your ideas, and the capacity to accept accountability for, and learn from, failures.
