Commodities Product Control is responsible for the independent oversight and financial control of the Global Commodities businesses, which is part of the Global Markets division of IB&M.
Responsibility includes oversight of all daily P/L production and analysis including attribution and commentary, month end accounting, General Ledger balance sheet reconciliations and other special tasks of the business across the full product range. The team is made up of CA/CPA qualified accountants with experience across Markets businesses in a range of institutions globally.

The Commodities business has undergone significant change in the last 2 years, implementing a refreshed strategy over a 5 year time frame to significantly grow the business. This position has the opportunity to work as the finance partner to the business in implementing this strategy.
Being involved in a business in growth phase presents a genuine opportunity to shape not only the future of Commodities Product control, but also play a real part in the future of the business.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily P/L and attribution, daily/weekly/monthly commentary.
- Ownership of the month end reporting responsibilities, balance sheet attestation and analysis and reconciliation of General Ledger Balance Sheet and P/L accounts to source system or independent source within month end accounting cycle.
- Partnering with the business to provide a value added service, understand the end-to-end business and how that relates back to the financial responsibilities.
- Drive innovation, productivity and continuous improvement.
- Assume ownership of special tasks, including new product testing, support and accounting advice to the business.
- Project work including but not limited to the design, testing and implementation of a new physical inventory management system.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have
- CA/CPA qualified
- Graduate studies in Business, Finance, Mathematics or related discipline
- At least 3 years’ experience post qualification in product control
- Solid understanding of markets business, valuation and IFRS
- Strong numeracy, PC and GL systems and reporting skills
