OVERVIEW: KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services seeks to identify a Manager, Accounts Receivable (AR) who will be responsible for people managing several direct reports, overseeing a team of at least 20 members, aligned with the following Client Accounts Receivable processes; cash applications, processing adjustments, and refunds, monitoring and responding to email requests and queries, invoice preparation and distribution, preparing and sending statements. Essential duties include: Client stakeholder relationship management, monitoring and reporting on operational performance, recruiting and development of staff (including indirect reports), maintaining process documentation, managing and resolving escalated issues (processing errors, complex procedures), and ensuring overall Client satisfaction with the delivery of services.
The Manager, Accounts Receivable will have in depth knowledge of the process area and will encourage a continuous improvement culture within the teams.
The position will be assigned to our rapidly growing KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS), which provides services to a major client in the United States.
Profile The successful candidate should possess strong project and people management skills along with advanced accounting experience. Specifically, the candidate should demonstrate: • strong technical and supervisory skills to lead a department of at least 20 resources performing various receivable activities and support their professional development; • the ability to identify and implement improvements in collaboration with key stakeholders; • the ability to exercise professional skepticism and provide critical insights; and
• strong analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills
Core Function Reporting directly to the JESS Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting, the Manager, Accounts Receivable will supervise the AR department to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Core job responsibilities will be to: • direct, evaluate and plan in collaboration with key stakeholders all activities within the AR function; • monitor, analyse and assess the performance of the JESS Accounts Receivable delivery organization and recommends and develops procedures or processes to continuously improve efficiency and product quality delivery by the team; • perform quality assurance reviews of deliverables and ensures that it meets client's expectations and timelines • prepare and deliver special and complex reports on performance analysis of the department against contractual parameters and company standards; and • provide leadership, train, coach and develop assigned personnel including setting performance criteria and conducting performance appraisals.
Professional Qualification The successful candidate should possess: • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent professional accreditation; and • Minimum of seven years' progressive and relevant accounting experience, with at least five years' experience in a people management capacity
