Your new company
Your new company is a local, well established public sector organisation based in Blackburn, Lancashire. This business is located near the M65 with excellent transportation links. Due to a number of new, upcoming acquisitions, they are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their growing and fast paced team on a permanent and full time basis.

Your new role
In your new role as Assistant Accountant, you will be reporting directly to the Finance Manager, whereby you will be responsible for the monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, cash allocation and control accounts. Your role will involve the completion and clearance of the balance sheet control accounts by resolving complex financial queries, developing and maintaining spreadsheets to analyse complex information. You will also manage journals, month end creditors, cash allocation, income receipts and sending remittances. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week on a flexi-time basis, whereby you can start between 7:30-10:00 and finish from 3:00. Flexi-time is worked on a 4 weekly basis.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for this role, you should be AAT qualified (or equivalent degree or work experience) and have worked in an accounts environment previously. You should have the ability to manage high level bank reconciliations and be ambitious and willing to learn and develop new skills. You will have excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel (vlookups & pivot tables) and have experience of working on computerised finance systems.
