We are looking for a new colleague to join Experian Global Finance Services (GFS). Global Finance Services is the fastest growing area of the Experian finance team with c 50% of the Experian Finance roles within this organisation. Global Finance Services is based in 4 main locations: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Sofia, Bulgaria; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Santiago, Chile with satellite offices in Nottingham, UK and Costa Mesa, US.

The Accounting and Control team has responsibility for the financial and management accounting within the EMEA region with a strong focus on ensuring an effective internal control and governance framework is in place. We are also covering the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for each market and we oversee a wide variety of financial processes including revenue recognition, revenue assurance, cost and balance sheet accounting, cash-flow management, group and statutory reporting support, IFRS accounting, support of external audits and indirect and direct taxes calculation. The team works closely with the local country Finance Directors, Finance Controllers, local and central FP&A and Business Partnering teams, as well as the Shared Service Centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the overall cost and BS accounting for a particular EMEA market
  • Support the month/year-end activities related to preparation of accruals, prepayments and CAPEX
  • Be responsible for the preparation of select Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Review of select Balance Sheet reconciliations prepared by the Shared Service Centre
  • Actively participate in the quarterly Balance Sheet review meetings with key financial stakeholders
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Support external audit process
  • Participate, lead and propose improvement and optimization projects

     

Requirements:

  • At least 3 year experience in financial/management accounting or audit in a multi-national business environment in accordance with IFRS
  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or relevant numerate science
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • ACCA or CIMA completed or in progress qualification will be considered an advantage
  • Familiar with Shared Service Center or Offshoring environment will be considered an advantage
  • Highly logical, numerate individual with strong attention to details
  • Technical accounting skills and proficiency with Excel
  • Good understanding of financial management information and workflow
  • Advanced written and verbal English
