Based in Tyne & Wear, my client is a vibrant and exciting business which designs and manufactures OEM technical products for major customers throughout the world. As Commercial Accountant, you will occupy a pivotal role in this ambitious and growing business and you will have the opportunity to directly impact and influence the commercial growth and profitability.Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, and as a key leader in the Finance function, you will have exposure up to Board level and will be the 'go to person', working with all functions across the Group globally. You will be responsible for providing management information to steer leadership decisions. The role will be involved in all aspects of the business, through effective Group delivery of objectives and you will be expected to influence and lead within this environment. This is a complex role, with multiple deadlines and KPI delivery at a senior level within the organisation.Key responsibilities will include:·Group reporting co-ordination, following up to ensure timely subsidiary submissions and pro-active post-month end follow up and closure of issues, targeting continuous improvement.·Acting as business partner to functional Group leaders to help them manage and implement objectives delivery. ·Group consolidation including cash flow and forex, managing also the reconciliation of intercompany balances.·Collation of consolidated budgets and forecasting positions.·Objective roll out across the Group and monthly dialogue (informal and formal) to ensure their delivery. ·Development of Group accounting policies and procedures to provide consistency across the business.·Liaison and coordination of the year-end audit and accompanying schedules.·Manage transfer pricing; liaising with the Marketing team to determine list and divisional pricing.·Providing the business with timely, accurate and relevant reporting and analysis.·KPI analysis and projections to drive operational performance and decision making.·Assisting the Chief Financial Officer with financial projections and business improvements.·Run the due diligence on new projects and opportunities.·Involved in decisions regarding financial strategy with the ability to contribute both strategically and operationally.·Data preparation and analysis for monthly reviews, divisional visits and Board reports.If you have at least 4 years post qualification experience, a degree in a business or finance related discipline, as well as being fully ACA/ACCA qualified we want to hear from you. To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate strong strategic thinking with the ability to identify opportunities to drive improvement and profitability in all aspects of the business operations.In addition to the above you will possess proven commercial acumen and experience of working directly with customers, as well as the ability to confidently present both the financial and business story from a commercial perspective. Occasional travel will be required, as well as a high level of communication across the Group. Strong Excel skills, preferably an advanced knowledge, are important.
