Accounting Technician

Our Charlottetown office is seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our dynamic team, with the primary responsibilities of bookkeeping and administrative duties including:

• Preparing journal entries, reconciliations and analysis of inventories, A/P and A/R

• Reporting and Analysis – prepare internal and external reports as required

• Payroll processing

• Income tax preparation

• Government remittances

• Projects and other responsibilities as required by the position

The ideal candidate will offer:

• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices

• Willingness to learn custom made software and a proficiency using accounting programs   such as Simply Accounting, QuickBooks Online, AgExpert and Microsoft Office products

• Excellent time-management, organizational, communication and analytical skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently

• Post-secondary education in the field of bookkeeping/accounting and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience

• Ability to do some local travel
