The Credit Management process in Finance Operations (FO) aims to provide reliable, consistent and professional services of credit assessment, debt collection, debt recovery and cash application & allocation for Shell. Overall, this process aims to improve working capital by minimizing bad debt, reducing overdue amounts and balancing credit risk with business opportunities. In Q3 2019, the decision has been taken to centralize the Credit Management support for the commercial Catalyst business – which is part of the Shell Catalysts & Technologies (SCT) organization in P&T. The aim of this position is to take on the credit assessment responsibilities for APAC/Americas. The purpose of this role is to streamline the credit risk assessment process and to take on full accountability for large and complex assessments. Important elements in the role will be:
- Business Impact: showcase that the newly formed central credit team for the TLS business is able to perform value adding credit assessments that provide clear insights into risks (credit exposure) and rewards (business margin) and have a direct impact on decisions being taken to achieve business targets and growth
- Operational Discipline: Delivery against credit metrics (e.g. timely credit assessments and (re-assessments) whilst having a robust control framework in place. Lead the monthly business controls and reviews to ensure all appropriate MoA approval and system changes are executed and in line with the Credit policies and control framework
- Business Partnering: This role will have exposure to business leaders such as Deal Makers, Service Managers and Regional Managers in both MENA, Europe as well as Americas. As such, the role requires to influence across cultural boundaries as well as through time zones
