Group Deputy Director of Finance (Financial Controller)

The University is successfully pursuing its ambitious agenda as a “Teaching Intensive, Research Informed” institution. One such innovative and successful ‘first of its kind’ development has been Bolton College (of Further Education) joining the University as part of the University’s wider group. It is therefore an exciting time for an ambitious financial professional wanting to further their career within a large, diverse organisational group setting.

In this new role of Group Deputy Director of Finance, you will support and deputise for the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Resources) on financial, budgetary and other matters relating to the University and wider Group including:

• Providing financial oversight, scrutiny and control of the Group. 
• Managing and controlling the University’s finance operations to ensure effective and efficient delivery of its financial strategy in line with the strategic plan.
• Leading, motivating and managing the University’s Finance department.

You will have previous experience of working in a senior Finance role and providing high-level strategic advice at board level.  It is critical that candidates hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification and have a successful track record of ensuring effective financial control, budgeting, forecasting and management of cash flow in a complex organisation.
