Client Details
My client is one of the most recognisable alcoholic beverage companies in the world and manufacture some very well known brands.
With a large presence in London, they are experiencing double digit growth annually and, as a result, are looking to hire a sole finance professional for the Managing Director to lean on.
Description
Provide financial analysis on a set of brands (TBA and may change over time): The brands intended to be managed will be London luxury focussed. Sound knowledge on the strategy of all other brands in the sector required. The key aspects of this support are: -monthly review and adjustments of marketing and promotional expenditure -detailed P&L review including investigation of key variances -commercial analysis e.g. promotional pricing -providing value added financial insights and recommendations.
Support to the Sales teams: National accounts, Luxury, E-commerce and Route to Market. Use both your analytical and relationship building skills to be the key liaison point across the London sector, providing monthly reporting on performance and any commercial related business.
Be the commercial 'go to person' for the London GM. Help facilitate decision making by presenting financial information in compelling ways, tailored to the need/customer. Provide recommendations and decision options. This may include attending customer meetings.
Responsible for the London sector and agreed brands in the ongoing wider business forecasting, planning and budgeting processes. Together with the other finance team members, you will develop the financial aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting and budgeting processes.
Responsible for a successful, accurate and timely month end close for the London sector/brands. This includes reporting in line with agreed month end close timelines and management information. Ideally be present in the office in Glasgow is preferable for month end close.
Keeping financial data secure, documenting activity and procedures for future reference. Keeping abreast of any new laws, regulations and developments that will impact London business from a commercial perspective.

Keep technical knowledge up-to-date
The candidate will require extensive knowledge of finance and accounting concepts, ideally obtained as part of a professional finance qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA. Very strong MS Excel knowledge and skills are also key requirements.
These detailed functional skills should be complemented by previous exposure supporting sales and marketing processes, ideally in a FMCG / branded products environment.
