I am currently recruiting an Accounts Payable Clerk to work for one of the UK's largest transport and railway providers. This is a permanent position, based in the City of London.

Client Details

My client is one of the UK's largest transport and railway providers with an annual turnover of £1 billion.

Due to a recent restructure in their finance team they are looking to hire an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team in the City of London. This will be based close to Bank tube station and is also easily accessible from London Bridge and Liverpool Street Stations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk who is looking for a new role.

Description

Accounts Payable Clerk, City of London

  • Company's payment and receipt processing activities are accurate and timely
  • Supplier and customer queries resolved in timely fashion
  • Sales ledger is effectively controlled to maintain overdue debtor balances within targets
  • Supplier statement reconciliations completed to schedule
  • Process invoices and sales orders received in a timely manner
  • Review and process e-invoicing files received form suppliers
  • Ensure that the procedures for authorising purchase and sales invoices are adhered to
  • Ensure that VAT inputs and outputs are accurately identified
  • Assist in resolving disputes between the company and external suppliers / customers
  • Undertake credit control escalating unresolved disputes to contract management
  • Ensure that supplier statement reconciliations are prepared on a periodic basis

    Knowledge

    Working knowledge of purchase and sales ledger modules (Oracle)

    Good understanding of Accounts Payable & Receivable processes

    Skills

    Good standard of numeracy & literacy

    Good attention to detail

    Working knowledge of Word and Excel

    Good interpersonal skills and effective communicator

    Experience

    Experience of transactions processing in accordance with defined procedures

    Experience of providing effective customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

    Experience of rail or similar transport industry

    Job Offer

    The successful candidate will be paid £26,000-£28,000 per annum depending on experience. They also offer excellent benefits including free travel on their railway lines.
