Financial Controller with a professional services or partnership environment? I'm recruiting a Financial Controller with gravitas for one of the UK's leading barristers chambers. This is a hands on, day to day role where you will be preparing management accounts, financial analysis using Excel reporting, budget preparation, managing the audit process and the general day to day running of the financial operations of a complex business.

As Financial Controller you will be reporting to the CEO and the Management Committee, as well as developing a close working relationship with external bodies including the auditors and Bank. Financially minded, you will be a confident, first rate communicator, resilient, self-sufficient, motivated and flexible but with a hands on approach and outstanding analytical skills.

Financial Controller - hands on role:

Prepare & present management accounts
Manage treasury accounts & cashflow
Providing financial support and analysis
Manage the audit process
Managing VAT and other statutory returns processes
Managing the out‐sourced monthly payroll function including end‐of‐year returns
P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements.
Managing the pension scheme in compliance with auto‐enrolment legislation
Monthly review and forecasting of the fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations for accruals, prepayments and deferred income
Taking control of annual budgeting and business planning processes
Overseeing operating costs. In addition to the routine operation of the financial ledgers, this includes formal monthly & quarterly reporting of Chambers' business performance, management and reporting of the Chambers' cash flow, plus items including trade creditor and debtor management
Liaison with statutory bodies
Keeping costs under review at all times, with a view to identification of possible savings measures;
Oversee Chambers insurance programme;
Act as Chambers' Money Laundering Officer and play a leading role in other areas of compliance such as Bribery Law;
Full or part qualified accountant - Financial Controller / Finance Manager Accountant

A good working knowledge of Sage would be beneficial. Full or part qualified accountant (ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other) you will be a Financial Controller / Finance Manager Accountant.

This is a full-time role. However, for the right candidate, the Chambers may consider an individual who, whilst being able to work for 5 days a week, may wish to work shorter hours than the 'normal' full working day, if this were to apply, salary etc. would of course be pro-rated accordingly. You should be professionally qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA etc)

Due to the number of responses we receive to our advertisements we are unable to respond individually to each application. If you do not hear from us within 7 days you may assume you have not been selected this time - but you are welcome to apply for any future vacancy you feel you are suitable for. Thank you for your interest in Acme Appointments
