Join our client's meticulous Remuneration and Benefits team based in Cape Town as a Remuneration Officer for the group.
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to ensure successful monthly payroll processing and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders.
If you have managed a payroll greater than R500M for over 300 employees using SAGE, we would love to hear from you!
Ideal Qualifications
Undergraduate degree with accounting and/or tax majors
Systems Knowledge
- SAGE
- MS Excel
Details
Salary range: Negotiable
Ideal start date: As soon as possible
Reporting to: Remuneration Specialist
Duration: Permanent
Location: Head Office, Cape Town
Business Unit: Remuneration and Benefits
Management responsibility: None

JOB SPECIFICATION
Main duties and responsibilities:
> Preparation and processing of monthly payroll:
- Process employee movements (new employees and terminations)
- Recording of allowances and fringe benefits
- Updating of databases
- Loading of salary payments
> Generating, processing, payment and submission of statutory returns
> Generating and processing of monthly third party returns
> Preparation and posting of month end journal entries
> Reconciliations of creditor and remuneration bank accounts
> Mid-year and to year end payroll tax reconciliation and submission to SARS
> Annual submission of WCA return
> Annual reconciliation of payroll to the ledger
> Administration of staff benefits
> Leave administration
> Employee share scheme administration and accounting
> Ad hoc projects and queries
Ideal experience:
> Payroll experience of between 4 to 6 years
> Proven track record handing payroll greater than R500 million; over 300 employees
Ideal qualifications:
> Undergraduate degree with accounting and/or tax majors
Systems knowledge:
> SAGE, MS Excel
