To grow our team we are looking for an International Financial Controller who enjoys working in an international and dynamic setting. The scope of the position includes the following responsibilities: – Servicing several clients by managing operational accounting for US–based international parent companies or subsidiaries– Manage a staff of internal and external accounting professionals in the US and Canada– Manage client accounting and monthly closings including GL transactions, TB and financial statements in Quickbooks– Monthly consolidations of client financial statements– Aid in budgeting, planning and related financial analyst client reporting– Accounting and operational project work– Manage bi–monthly payroll for all US–based client employees– Manage accounts payable, interact with vendors, treasury approval and payment process for client monthly payment runs– Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting requirements are completed on a timely basis – Set up clients with banking, payroll and benefits PEO, create QB accounts, treasury processes, and more– Support in implementing accounting tools (i.e. AP, HR, etc.)– Interact with tax, accounting and legal service providers– Interact with client employees, problem solving– Daily interaction with HQ (Germany)– Work closely with and support the North America Director– Occasional travel to Europe Qualifications: Must have: – BS in Accounting– Public accounting experience in Audit, minimum of 3 years– Private accounting experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller– 5+ years working knowledge and experience with US GAAP– Working knowledge of SAAS revenue recognition, Financial Statement Consolidations, Accounting for Capital Leases– Quickbooks or a comparable accounting system– Have an entrepreneurial 'get it done' attitude, bringing energy, problem–solving skills and tenacity to the team– Strong communication skills and can comfortably adapt to interacting with various senior management levels of international clients– Very proactive and organized– Strong computer skills – proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint– Soft skills including an open–minded attitude, interest in interacting with different cultures (company and country–wise cultures), outside the box thinking and a strong focus on customer needs A major plus: – Working knowledge of German– Working knowledge and experience with IFRS– Other foreign language skills– Experience with other accounting "satelite" tools, i.e. consolidation (LucaNet, DataRails), HR (BambooHR), travel costs (Rydoo, Expensify), AP Management, etc???
