JOB DESCRIPTION
MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT, STIRLING (£40,000 - £45,000 + car allowance)

Change Recruitment have been appointed to support with the recruitment of the above role, which sits within one of Scotlands leading privately owned companies, who not only operate at the fore front of their sector, but are very much the market leader within their chosen field.

The successfully appointed candidate will ideally be fully qualified, and will come from either a Practice or Industry background. The role itself is tailored to quite a wide spectrum of candidates, ranging from those who are newly qualified or indeed several years PQE. The role though will be most suited to those who are on the upward curve of their career, highly driven and career minded.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will play a pivotal role in not only the Finance team as a whole, but also in terms of managing and driving a team of 3, to ensure optimum productivity is achieved at all times. On this point in particular, the post requires someone with real drive and energy, and who will come with a sense of urgency.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Understand and analyse individual project revenue and cost performance
• Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts
• Review all balance sheet items to ensure validity
• Review and submit statutory returns
• Ensure the business is operating with effective internal controls
• Produce weekly 13wk rolling cashflows and report on variances
• Preparation of monthly forecasts with explanation and commentary on KPIs, as well as variances and trends
• Preparation of the yearly budget and 5yr review
• Design, implement and maintain effective reports for the business

In addition, there will be a degree of business partnering where you will provide key support and input to a range of commercial stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and the ability to main strong relations across the business, will therefore play a key part in the ongoing success of the role.

The successful candidate will be:

• Ideally fully qualified (CA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Strong track record of producing timely financial MI in a fast moving commercial environment
• Strong analytical skills and be comfortable with a wide range of analytical techniques
• Sound and relevant commercial awareness
• Good people / management skills
• Self-motivation and ability to work under own steam
• Strong Excel skills and good overall systems experience
