Job Purpose & Summary:
Interviews Clients, hears their concerns, assesses the situation and provides financial advice for the development of their respective investment portfolios towards helping them meet their financial goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Makes direct contact with and builds a portfolio of new clients by offering financial solutions
* Establishes a personal sales plan for business development, identifying performance targets for agreement with Team Leader
* Interviews Client (e.g. clarify current financial position, existing obligations, identify threats/opportunities) and provides him/her/them with financial advice that excites, empowers and guides them in planning their financial portfolios to achieve their financial goals.
* Has clear, precise conversations with Clients to help to them make appropriate choices (e.g. identify their level of risk tolerance, the optimum investment allocation, understand financial concepts, the options available, understand the risk involved in making investments).
* Negotiates possible solutions for Clients based on the use of the Group's suite of local and international investment products/services
* Generates agreed investment plan for Client that may involve local and international investment solutions.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
* First Degree in Business, Finance or Economics or Equivalent
* Minimum of five (5) years' working experience, preferably in a sales role within a financial institution.
* Financial Planning Certification
* Working knowledge of financial sector instruments, laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon.
* Experience in the development of personal financial plans and a high level of expertise in local and international investment
* Proven ability to close/sell financial solutions and exceed targets
* Must have a sharp business development focus and experience.
* Proven track record in sales in building a portfolio of clients
* High level of computer literacy and skills.
* High level of oral and written communication skills.
* Good Listening skills with the ability to translate stated and unstated needs into product and service solutions
* Analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify opportunities to develop solutions with both short and long term orientation.
* Creative and innovative thinking with the ability to see beyond the obvious and present options that challenge the status quo
* Entrepreneurial skills, willing to own business outcomes and accountabilities
* The ability to engage others at all levels so as to facilitate a partnership based on understanding and insights
