Job Description

Director of Audit and Compliance


The Assistant Director of Compliance is responsible for supervising and conducting regular and random compliance audits of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to ensure adherence of all organizations to the requirements of the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017 and the U.S. Center for SafeSport's policies and procedures. This individual will also be responsible for evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of audit protocols and practices to ensure appropriate execution of regular and random audits.


  • Supervise and conduct regular and random compliance audits of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to ensure compliance with Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017.
  • Work closely with the Director of Audit and Compliance in the creation of audit standards, protocols and practices
  • Develop appropriate milestones and launch schedules to ensure timely and successful delivery of regular and random audits of the USOPC and NGBs
  • Provide monthly and year–end summary reports of key audit findings and high –risk areas for all organizations
  • Conduct initial review of audit team's supporting compliance documents, work papers, corrective actions and audit reports
  • Manage, supervise and track the performance of compliance auditors and conduct post audit meetings as necessary
  • Coordinate all audit activities, rotations and deadlines to ensure audit reports are completed in a timely fashion
  • Create follow up procedures and protocols when deficiencies are identified through compliance audits
  • Have a comprehensive and thorough understanding of USOPC and general membership structure and oversight scope within the organization
  • Train new audit staff and provide mentoring as appropriate
  • Assist Director of Audit and Compliance with special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

  • D. or advanced degree in field of organizational development, communication, education, sexual assault or related field
  • Sports background strongly preferred


  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptionally skilled in written and verbal communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically and strategically
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines in a fast–paced and dynamic work environment
  • Have a high level of flexibility and excellent customer service skills when engaging with both internal and external constituents
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Positive, can–do attitude
