Job Description The Role / Responsibilities:

This is an opportunity within a communications team to work on a wide range of captivating issues that are at the heart of the Asia Pacific and global capital markets. In this role, you will be responsible for;

Media communications
Support the VP-Communications to execute media communications, including PR and reports distribution, pitching, enquiry handling, interview arrangement etc.

Media relationships
Support the VP-Communications to execute a media relations program that ensures Moody's is maintaining excellent relationships with journalists (both domestic and foreign) in China and on China, to achieve a strong share of voice among our top media targets. Classify the media contact list and keep it up to date.

Media event/outreach
Support the VP-Communications in various media events and outreaches to ensure Moody's will have the best in class media events through which its credit opinions and research results will be conveyed effectively.

Media monitoring and reporting
Support the Media Research Team to monitor Chinese media coverage, update them to the database and inform or alert relevant internal stakeholders as critical coverage arises. Support the VP-Communications to work on specific summary media coverage report, particularly in times of media issue/crisis or publication of high profile China-related reports.

Social media
Manage the official WeChat content subject to the relevant internal policies. Explore and learn the latest social media communication skills and technologies that would help the company reach out to its target audience and enhance its reputation in China.

Marketing
Collaborate with the MCO Marketing team to implement global and regional projects in China. Execute China on-the-ground marketing projects coordinating with different internal functions and stakeholders. Manage external agencies to ensure timely and quality deliveries.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Skills and knowledge required
  • Basic understanding of the credit rating business, the evolving China capital market and regulatory
  • Strong media skills and understanding of how media work and news values (including social media)
  • Good English and Mandarin verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in marketing tools
  • Social media savvy is preferable
  • PR agency or in house background is a plus
