Product Owner – Credits card & Personal Lending

Our purpose in the Credit Cards & Personal Lending Tribe is to deliver best in class customer experiences and operational excellence for credit cards and personal lending seamlessly and reliably every time.

The mission of the Consumer cards – Product Squads is to ensure we have a well-managed value, rewards and travel portfolio that delivers a seamless customer experience. We are focused on fixing customer pain points and simplifying our processes and procedures

The Product Owner enables and inspires the squad (a multi-disciplinary team of around 8 people) to pursue its mission through guidance on what work should be completed and with what priority (the ‘Backlog’), with customers at the heart of their decision making. The Product Owner also ensures that the work is strategically aligned to the tribe’s objectives and engages with other Product Owners to align and manage interdependencies.

What might a 'day in the life' look like
  • Create, prioritise, sequence and maintain the Product Backlog
  • Assist with the elaboration of Themes, Features and Epics into User Stories that are granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint
  • Convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every Quarter and Sprint and ensure the Squad remains aligned to these
  • Review progress and reprioritise or resequence any work that is not complete
  • Engage customers and stakeholders to ensure the Squad is working on the right things, and course correct if needed
  • Actively participate in daily standups, Sprint Planning, Showcases and Retrospective ceremonies
  • Remove roadblocks and manage alignment and interdependencies with other product owners or teams/squads
  • Liaise with Tribe and Chapter leadership and other POs to ensure the squad has the support required to succeed
  • Champion the squad mission and refine it with the Tribe Lead where required
  • Share the progress of the squad with the wider organization
