Hackley Community Care (HCC) is a community health center located near the beautiful Muskegon lakeshore. Under the direction of the Chief Finance Officer, the Finance Director will provide oversight of HCC's Billing Department offering strategic direction and focus on revenue management and providing comprehensive support for innovation and organizational changes. In addition, this individual is directly responsible for the management of daily operations and employees of HCC's
Accounting Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serve as the primary point person for CFO. Responsible for development and analysis of the annual patient revenue budget. Provide oversight and guidance to billing and collection management and provide strategic focus and leadership on revenue management and enhancement. Maintain deep understanding of key processes within the Billing and Accounting Department and evaluate opportunities for improvement. Understand and perform analysis of insurance incentive structure; provide support to Quality Manager regarding payment issues; Co–lead Finance & Quality incentive payment meetings. Work closely with Billing/Patient Financial Services Manager to monitor A/R aging and balances, working together to find resolutions to complex billing issues. Update and review annual fee schedules. Perform revenue reconciliations for federal reports (UDS). Review monthly productivity reports and follow up with operational leaders. Responsible for the management of daily operations and employees of HCC's Accounting Department. Perform month–end financial reporting and analytics. Review monthly financial reports by dept (Service Line). Lead quarterly financial variance reviews (Service Line) with operational leaders. Prominent role in annual audits. Serve as a resource to managers and other staff members. Review and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting and billing operations and assume a lead role for innovation, knowledge sharing and leading practices. Identify and assess new technology and process improvements. Develop detailed financial analysis and actions plans for potential integration of new service lines. Stay abreast of governmental regulations and requirements as well as company policies and procedures to ensure accounting and billing compliance. Attend and provide status report updates at various meetings. Foster teamwork; engage, recognize, encourage, develop and manage performance and evaluation of employees. Skills needed for success in this leadership position include strong analytical skills, organization skills, leadership, initiative and follow through.
Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree with 10+ years accounting experience; to include accounting management experience Previous accounting experience and billing knowledge in the medical field arena Knowledge of billing regulations and various payer methodologies Strong understanding of the working relationship between the A/R Professional Management system and the GL. Ability to manage workload and demonstrate resiliency when faced with deadlines Strong excel skills Strong attention to detail and ability to summarize information in a clear, concise manner Ability to foster a team environment and to engage, recognize, encourage and develop employees
