Cost Accountant / Commercial Accountant - Derbyshire - offering up to £35,000 + study support
Are you a part-qualified Accountant with proven experience in costing, estimating and pricing, ideally in high volume manufacturing?
Cherry Professional are delighted to be working exclusively with this extremely well-respected, forward-thinking business, who are looking to add a real bright spark to the current team. This will be a highly visible role with access to a variety of stakeholders.
In this exciting and challenging role, your responsibilities will be wide-ranging, giving you the chance to really develop your technical knowledge, as well as your interpersonal skills, future proofing your career and getting you ready for that next step in the business.
You will be responsible for profit and loss information, pricing and cost reports; as well as the preparation of monthly management accounts and monthly balance sheet reconciliations; preparing monthly, quarterly, annual returns as required, and internal audits.
Further responsibilities will include preparation of budgets and forecasts, and measurement against future budgets and forecasts; review financial success of specific projects, customer incentives, and advising on stock reviews - this will entail liaison with Finance and Non-finance to monitor ongoing costs and profitability.
This opportunity will develop your skills and experience, with a view to progressing internally into roles such as Finance Business Partner.
Qualifications and skills required
You will have a strong track record in Management Accounting and Cost Accounting, and be Part-Qualified or Finalist (CIMA , ACA or ACCA).
You will be fluent communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to provide well-worded, accurate reports and to present to Finance and Non-Finance at all levels.
This role would suit those with an inquiring mind and natural persistence when following up detail and information.
You will have advanced Excel, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and, ideally experience of a large ERP system (such as SAP, Oracle or Dynamics).
